El Android Viajero - The Traveling Android

Este es uno de los lugares más hermosos hechos por el hombre, es una comprobación que el humano puede crear cosas hermosas sin destruir la naturaleza; Este evento se llama Ice Castles, y unas de sus sedes es el parque William Hawrelak, en Edmonton, Alberta, en Canadá (hay algunas sedes más en Estados Unidos) Si tienes oportunidad de ir no la pierdas, es una experiencia única, el evento dura más o menos 1 mes, empieza a principios de Enero y termina más o menos a principios de Febrero.

Algunas recomendaciones si piensas ir:

- Usar ropa abrigadora, dentro del castillo la temperatura es muy baja y si quieres estar mucho tiempo ve bien preparado con pantalones y chamarra para nieve.

- Muy importante también botas para nieve, ya que todo es hielo y nieve, adentro puede estar algo resbaloso.

- Llega a la hora para la que compraste tu boleto, si llegas tarde podrías perder tu entrada (lo mencionan en su website)

- Ten presente que si sales ya no puedes volver a entrar, ya que no manejan sistema de boletaje impreso, cuando llegas haces check-in de forma electrónica en la taquilla, así que no se imprime nada, algo muy positivo, es que una vez que entras puedes quedarte todo el tiempo que quieras.

- Dentro, en la plaza principal del castillo, venden chocolate caliente y donas, también cuenta con calentadores para los que sientan frío.

- Si quieres subir al resbaladero la fila es muy grande, así que a armarse de paciencia.

- Una muy buena recomendación es que compres tu boleto más o menos una media hora o algo así antes de que anochezca para que puedas ver el lugar tanto con luz natural como artificial, ya que se ve muy diferente de las 2 formas e ¡igual de impresionante!

- Lleva batería extra, ya que vas a tomar miles de fotos, en el rato que estuvimos ahí tomé ¡más de 800 fotografías!

Here's some advice in case you are planing to visit:

- Wear warm clothes, a good jacket and snowpants really make the difference between enjoying yourself and wanting to get out of the place pretty soon.

- Another very important thing is to wear boots for snow, the place is all ice and snow and it's slippery on some places.

- Arrive on time, on their website it says that you might lose your ticket if you don't get at the time you booked your visit.

- Keep in mind that once inside, if you go outside there is no re-entry, they don't print tickets, at the entrance you check-in electronically and that's it. The good news is that you can spend all the time you want inside.

- At the main plaza they sell hot cocoa and donuts, also there some heaters for those who get cold.

- If you want to try the slide, just be patient, if it's crowded you could spend sometime on the line.

- A good advice is to buy your ticket for at least half an hour before it gets dark because the place looks stunning and very different on both natural and artificial light.

- One last piece of advise is that if you like taking pictures, then take extra memory and batteries for your camera or cellphone, you are going to need them for sure! I took more than 800 photos!
